Ruby Tuesday

It's Ruby Tuesday time again and here is my post. I have two pictures here and the first one was taken during the Camping, Caravan and Holiday Expo which was held in Penrith west of Sydney earlier this month. This is just only some of the food stalls during that day. We had chicken kebabs and chips for our lunch which we bought from the Australian Kebab House. Below is a cute mug hubby received during Father's Day.

Feeding the ducks

This was last Sunday. We took the kids to a nearby park where there is a big pond, picnic area and a playground. I packed lunch with us and took left over bread as well for the ducks if in case feeding the ducks is allowed at the pond. The kids were so excited for the picnic because that was our first time to visit the place. When we arrived, it was quiet with no one playing in the playground except for a couple of people at the big shaded picnic area. We spotted two men also trying their luck fishing for carp at the opposite side of the pond. There were many ducks from nowhere started to appear as soon as we got closer to the water.The kids started to feed them when they got to the edge of the pond. They were hungry and grabbing every pieces thrown into the water. When the kids had enough they started to get back to the shaded area but these white ducks followed them wanting for more and so they feed them again.

Today's flowers

Here is my Today's Flowers post. These are the flowers and flower buds of my lemon tree. Its got plenty of flowers and buds this time. My lemon tree is about 4 years old, about 2.5 meters tall and has lots of branches.It produces many lemons every year.

David

Last Sunday we were up early excited for our trip up to the Blue Mountains for David's Taekwondo first grading session for yellow belt. We hit the road at around 7:30 am for David's grading was scheduled at 8:45 am and a warm up was also to be done before the grading. Glad there was not much traffic on the way and we didn't have trouble locating the venue even if that was our first time in the place, so we arrived on time as expected. My sister, her husband and their daughter came also to meet us. The kids were so excited to see their little cousin again. And here are some of the pictures I took. I wasn't able to take good pictures during the grading for we were sitting at the back and I had to zoom my camera to the max but the results weren't that good.With their cousin, Maddie just outside the grading venue .

Watery Wednesday

Fitzroy Falls is in Morton National Park, named after NSW Governor Sir Charles Fitzroy during his visit on 1850 . The falls lie in the path of the Yarrunga Creek, which drops over 80 metres down the escarpment, and flows on into the Kangaroo River. The water flow is not as massive, nor as irregular, as in the past due to a water catchment dam further upstream today

Foggy...

Our day yesterday started with a thick blanket of fog early in the morning . I was still in bed and hubby woke me up to let me know how the morning looks like. He knows that I always like to take snaps when its foggy. And here are some of the photos I took.

Ruby Tuesday

Here is my Ruby Tuesday post. These are called Cordyline "Rubra" (Rubra which means red) growing in the garden of the Motor Inn where we stayed one weekend. They are stunning and a delightful sight in the garden.

Last Sunday

This is the other place that we visited last Sunday just only a few minutes drive from Penrith. It was our first time to visit this place. The place is called the John Whitton Memorial Park. John Whitton was the one who built the railways of Penrith to Bathurst, Sydney to Albury and Sydney to Queensland. The monument was built in memory of him and all the men who worked with him.

Wisteria

These were taken at the garden in Penrith near Penrith Plaza. Penrith is a suburb in western Sydney and located 50 kilometres west of Sydney CDB. We dropped by at the garden after my son's Taekwondo grading session which was held in the Blue Mountains. Since we finished earlier than expected we thought to drop by at the garden on our way back home and have a look around. One thing that caught our attention was these beautiful wisteria blooms. They are a magnificent sight in the garden this time and I can resist taking a few pictures.My kids

Camera Critters

We saw these two white ducks while we were taking a walk in the park beside Nepean River in Penrith west of Sydney.

Blister

One day last week, I decided to finally trim one of our plants in the front yard for it was getting bushy and it seemed some of the plants close to it were struggling hard to get the sunlight and didn't look happy at all. The space was getting crowded too. So armed with a pruner, I started cutting the twigs that touched the ground and at the same time put the cut pieces directly into the bin. While I was in the middle of my work, I felt a little throbbing on my right index thumb and just ignored it at first but later on it was becoming a bit sore. It was swollen and reddish when I checked it. I then noticed that a water blister was starting to appear. Silly me for not wearing garden gloves which I used to do every time I am in the garden but on that particular day, I really didn't think that I needed it for the job wasn't that hard and won't take long.

Sky Watch Friday

It's time for another SWF once again and here is my post for this week. The first two pictures were taken from our backyard last Wednesday early in the afternoon. The day started with an overcast weather early in the morning right before lunch but blue sky with a few patches of cloud started to appear later in the afternoon. It was a glorious Spring afternoon after all, and while I was in the backyard, I noticed these 3 native pigeons perching on the branches of the naked tree that belongs to our next door neighbor. I took a few snaps and thought to post them for my SWF.And pictures below were taken early afternoon today. I went outside to take the clothes from the clothes line when I spotted a solar halo around the sun. I hurriedly ran inside to grab my camera to take a few snaps before it was gone. As you can see this is not a complete solar halo. I read in the internet that it is rare to see a complete solar halo and I hope one day I can see one.

Watery Wednesday

I wonder how old is this tree that grows along the riverbank. Looks like it has been going through tough times.
