New venue

Last week, I received a call from one of the staffs of the tennis school where my daughter is doing her tennis lesson. The lady who rang me is the one who is organizing theThursday tennis comp, and  informed me that the Saturday tennis lesson of my daughter will be moved to another venue which is also not far from where we live. Since I haven't been  there yet and not quite familiar with the place, I asked hubby's help to drive us there on the first day of her lesson. Glad hubby was not doing overtime work on that day and willingly agreed.  I don't like roads I am not familiar with. I feel a little bit nervous.

Camera Critters

Well, I sharing with you these photos that I took when we visited, Southern Highland, NSW the other weekend. On the way to our destination we made a stop at a  shop to get something and saw these beautiful animals  just across the road. I am not really sure if these are llamas or alpacas.

Last Wednesday

I love taking photos when the morning is like this. We had a misty morning last Wednesday. It was a magical part of the day.

Comfort food

Talking about comfort food on cold days there is only one thing that comes to my mind, a food which is good to eat and so simple to make. Cold days make me hungry most of the time and makes me crave for this particular food that I used to eat during snack time in the Phils. I dont eat this food very often here in fact I can't even remember when was the last time since I have this food on the table.

We call it pospas or rice poridge.
Ingredients:
rice
left over roasted chicken meat
onion
ginger
garlic
ground black pepper
knorr chicken broth cubes
cups of water

I just garnished it with finely chopped spring onions and fried garlic. Yummy.

Winter blooms

We are still in the middle of our winter season but my  Argyranthemum  plants  have started  blooming. You don't really look hard for blooms in my garden these days. My garden really looks good this winter. We haven't hit by heavy frost yet since the start of winter. I hope it won't come so my garden will still look good.

 This parrot is called Crimson Rosella.

Crimson Rosella (Platycercus elegans)is a parrot native to eastern and south eastern Australia which has been introduced to New Zealand and Norfolk Island. It is commonly found in, but not restricted to, mountain forests and gardens. The species as it now stands has subsumed two former separate species, the Yellow Rosella and the Adelaide Rosella. Molecular studies show one of the three red-coloured races, var. nigrescens is genetically more distinct. (wikipaedia)

Last Sunday's dinner

We went to Goulburn in the Southern Highlands, NSW last Sunday to visit my hubby's daughter who was in the hospital for she fell off her horse and suffered a broken ankle and had a surgery. She was doing really good  after the surgery and is back home since yesterday.
It was late when we left the hospital and decided to have dinner in one of the popular restaurants in Goulburn before we started the long trip going back home. We have been in this restaurant  a few times and every time we visit there,  I don't miss to order their yummy omelette and so did hubby.

My omelette consist of ham tomato and mushrooms serve with vegetables. Yum!

Water World-Wednesday

 For my Water World-Wednesday post I am sharing with  you our fish tank  which contains about 18 gold fish. The tank is  about 1.5 meters long, 2 feet deep, 45 cm wide and contains about 371 ltr of water.

Madie's birthday

 My niece Madie celebrated her 5th b-day last month at their place in the lower part of the Blue Mountains and we were invited to celebrate the day with them. Unlike the previous birthday parties that she had, it was only us that they invited but on the day of her b-day they gave special treats to all of Madie's classmates in the pre-school where she is.

  It was a great day filled with fun for all of us. Thank you to my sister and her hubby for always inviting us.

Little orange mushrooms

 I found these little orange mushrooms in Nurragingy Reserve last Saturday while I took the kids for a walk and feeding the ducks. I don't know why but I am obesessed  with mushrooms, toadstool, fungi  and all that, that every time I am out or  just even in our backyard, I am looking for them.

I believe this kind of mushroom is toxic.

 The other day we had visitors in the backyard perching on our mulberry tree. They are called Apostle Birds.

Apostle bird (Struthidea cinerea), also known as the Grey Jumper, is a quick-moving, gray or black bird about 13 inches (33 centimetres) long. It is a native to Australia where it roams woodlands, eating insects and seeds at, or near, ground level. Apostlebirds often travel ingroups of about 12; for this reason they were named after the Biblical apostles, the twelve chief followers of Jesus Christ.
