Autumn Colours

 Here is another set of Autumn photos that I would like to share with you. This is still part of the photos that I took in the Blue Mountains sometime last April, the second month of our Autumn season.

Thursday morning

 I woke up to a cold and foggy morning on Thursday and I didn't let the moment slip by without taking photos. It was beautiful and mysterious.

Autumn has always been my favourite season. The crisp air and the colours of the leaves make me happy.The changing of the colour of the leaves is  so beautiful.

One winter day

I just one to share with you this photo that I captured last week. I was at the backyard when I spotted the sun shining brightly after it was covered by patch of clouds.

Yesterday morning..

It wasn't a heavy frost but it was enough to make minimal damage in my garden. The leaves of some of my plants are looking droopy and sad now. This was not the first time that we have frost since winter had started last June, we had a few already but not heavy. It was about 8:30 am when I went out to the backyard to take some photos.

Last Sunday

It was again another foggy and freezing morning. And when I went out at about 9:30 am to our backyard to hang clothes in the clothesline , the fog lifted a bit and I captured a few photos of the sun tried to break through a blanket of fog.

Watery Wednesday

I took these photos last Saturday, May 22, 2010 when we attended the Medieval Fayre in celebration of Blacktown City Festival which was held in Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside west of Sydney. We took a stroll around the park before we headed home and I can't resist taking pictures of the beautiful views in this Autumn Season.

Our backyard this time

It's time to get ready again and arm ourselves with rakes and a muncher. A big clean up is about to occur soon at our backyard. Every year we have our share of fallen Autumn leaves and part of our backyard is covered with them. It is our big pecan tree that is responsible for the major mess but we don't want it to be cut down.It gives us shades on summer days and besides it produces yummy pecan nuts which we always enjoy during picking season.The tree hasn't finished shedding the leaves yet, and there are still a lot to come to the ground by the look of it . We have to wait until it is almost bare before we can start gathering the leaves and pile them ready for the muncher. We are going to munch the leaves and make a good compost out of it which is good both our plants and pockets. That's why I am not complaining about this tree. It gives us an excuse to get out in the sun and be busy together. It may take a day or so for us to finish the job depending on interruptions that comes along the way especially the unpredictable weather. I myself cannot spend my time the whole day cleaning the backyard.
While I was outside taking these photos I saw a bird perching on the branch of the pecan tree, a noisy miner.

Our Christmas tree

As a way to welcome the month of December, my first post for this month are pictures taken on the night we made our Christmas tree. We finally grabbed the chance to have our Christmas tree back right on its place last weekend. We definitely deserved a good pat on our shoulder for doing such a good job on record time.Well done to the kids, who were my great helpers.Without those 4 little hands, I might not be able to finish it quickly. I only did the finishing touches on it as the kids did most of the decorations and I think I did a great job too:). The kids always do a great job decorating our old Christmas tree with excitement. I feel happy and satisfied of what they had done to our Old Christmas Tree.Our Christmas tree is an old one. I bought it few days after I delivered Dorothy and until now, we're still using it. It is still in good shape and condition because after every Christmas season, I always properly place it in its original box before putting it away in my storage unit in our laundry room. It is our first Christmas tree since we got married and plenty of great memories with it. That's why I dont have plan to replace it just yet.

It's tulip time (part 1)

It's Spring time once again and there is no better place to be. Time to indulge ourselves with nature’s most beautiful shows in the NSW Southern Highlands, the Bowral Tulip Festival. Every year the Bowral Corbett Garden as well as local parks and playgrounds explode with masses of colour as 100,000 tulips and 25,000 flowering annuals bloom into life this Spring.

We never want to miss this great opportunity to witness this beautiful tulip display so every year we schedule a trip down to the Southern Highlands. It was so windy and bone-chilly cold out there when we arrived, unlike the temperature in our place. Our clothes were not warm enough for such type of weather because I didn't realize how the weather was down there on that day, that’s why we didn’t stay much longer. But even though the weather wasn’t cooperative enough it never stop the people to flock and witness the spectacular colour and beauty of tulips.

Love is in the air...

Spring is not only for many people to enjoy, plants to rebirth, flowers to bloom but it is also nesting time for most of the birds.
