Our Easter celebration was held on the Monday after Easter Sunday. We decided to have it on that day because that was the only time that suited most of us. However, it didn't turn out to be the expected celebration as the day was threatened with on and off light showers all throughout the day and it was becoming a bit chilly. We had the lunch outdoor and while we were having it few light showers started to drop down again. Mother nature had really other plan of her own. The Easter egg hunt was held inside the house. I didn't have any other choice, rather to have it inside or not anymore because of the rain. Thought, it would not be such fun for the kids looking for the eggs behind the vases, bench top, kitchen sink, on the chairs and under the table. But yet, they all had a good time and so busy looking for eggs. The games were unfortunately canceled because I didn't want the kids running and jumping inside our old house and just let them played computers and Wii instead.
And as Easter is not just for the children alone but as well as for big ones, I have here what I had received as an Easter gifts from my hubby's relatives.

Aside from the beaches that we visited, we were able to visit the famous Crowdy Head Lighthouse, Taree (356 km from Sydney) . It was built in 1878 with a fixed catadioptric light of less than 1,000 candelas.
Another place that our train enthusiast guys could not afford to miss is the Timbertown Heritage Theme Park, where you can ride the steam train, experience the bullocky display, observe the timber craftsmen at work and smell the coals of the blacksmith. There are heaps of interesting things to see and do as well. One of these is the Penny Farthing where Dorothy made an attempt to try it.

I will be away for few days to visit friends of ours up in the North Coast of NSW. It is about 5 hrs drive from where we live. We will start hitting the road on the early hours of the first day of the long weekend as this day is considerably peak for holiday makers who start to go away and we don't want to be caught up with the heavy traffics along the way. That is always expected at this time of the year.
We will be staying in our friends' house in a country side location. We've been there many times and every visit is always fun filled days that we could not afford to forget. The wife of our friend is also a Filipina from the place where I grew up. We were schoolmates in HS and she married my hubby's friend. We always talk over the phone from time to time to catch each other but seeing them personally is something more special.
So, I wish everyone have a good and safe Easter Holiday. I will make it up what i have missed when I come back after our trip.
Apart from the Easter hats, this is the other thing that kept me busy which we could not afford to miss too . I went out shopping early for we will be away before Easter Sunday. It took a great deal of time for me to decide because there is always plenty of varieties to choose from and there are the price and the quality to be considered as well. The thing that the shops this time are not yet full of people in preparation for Easter Celebration is a good relief for me because I don't like standing in a long queue and as much as possible I always try to avoid it.
Easter Sunday for us is always a big celebration with my hubby's family and my sister's family. It is a family gathering, a great opportunity for us to catch up with each other again. The highlights of our celebration aside from lunch and Easter egg hunt is the exchanging of Easter bunnies and eggs. I know the kids can't wait for this as this is always their most awaited part. We always host this occasion and we always make sure that everyone has a great time. I will be busy again because aside from being the host I have to organize games as well for the kids to give them an extra excitement and fun for the day.
While me and hubby were busy shopping in preparation for our Easter celebration, I came across this cute pink and blue bunny hat which I thought at the very first sight, it will surely suit Dorothy's liking. Well, I was not wrong though, because she feels in love with it right away.
As for David, I don't have any trouble with what hat he is going to wear because he prefers to wear the Easter hat that he wore last year while he was in Pre-school. He seems to still like it. He decorated it by himself. I just took out the old Easter egg chocolates around the hat and replaced it with new ones.
The cooler weather is on the air nowadays. And my craving set in again for a warm soup in particular the other day.I loved to cook it but i didn't have the vegetables needed at that particular time . So I thought I had to wait the next day for it will be our shopping day where I can include the ingredients needed in my shopping list.
We come here in most weekend just to relax and unwind. Grose River at Navua Reserve is our favourite weekend spot where the kids can go swimming, catch fish, play in the sand or just hang around with other kids while we just sit around relaxing in the peaceful balmy surroundings of the wilderness, listening to the sound of birds and enjoying the views around. Being close to nature is always fun and exciting and we always love it.

When we impulsively went out to check our dogs outside after the storm that late afternoon, this is the spectacular scene in the sky that met our eyes .
One of my favourite among my succulent collection is agave attenuata . One thing why i like this plant is the absence of spike on the tip or the ends of the leaves. An extremely versatile type that can be easily grown indoors or outdoors in sun and even in shady area . They grow well in pots and garden beds too.
