Chocolate cake

Yesterday afternoon, Dorothy baked a cake for us. I just bought her a Premium delux premium chocolate mix to use and a ready to spread rich chocolate fudge for frosting. She loves cooking and baking and it is amazing that at this young age of her she can already bake a cake without my supervision.

Yesterday

 While me and David were waiting for Dorothy to finish her tennis lesson, we took advantage of the opportunity to stroll around the Lake of Woodcroft which is just nearby. Woodcroft is a suburb of Sydney, located  42 km west of Sydney CBD in the city of Blacktown. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera with me so I just used my mobile phone cam instead.Thought to capture the moment after the sunset.

The lake has plenty of native and feral ducks as well as pigeons and some other native birds. There are many walking paths around the lake that every time we visit there, we can see walkers and runners. The place is also popular for picnics too.

New passport

I went to the city last Friday to get my new passport and I was so excited. After over a month of waiting I finally got it. It was already past due the scheduled date of release and I was about to ring them to make a follow up. But when I visited the website to check again I noticed that my passport was ready for collection. Thankfully.

At the playground in DL

 It was our first time to visit the playground in Darling Harbour since it was officially opened sometime of last year, I think. The playground has a 21-metre flying fox, water games, climbing ropes, swings, slides which will keep teens and toddlers entertain for hours. It has shaded areas where we can sit down and relax while watching the kids. It's a great place for a picnic too. But best of all it's all FREE.

1D Fans

Last month, One Direction had a tour concert here in Australia but unfortunately the kids didn't able to go, but instead I promised  to take them to the special pop up store which was opened last April 7, selling different kinds of 1D merchandise  like, dolls, Cds, tshirts, hoodies, posters and etc.

 They are both avid fans of 1Direction especially Dorothy who is crazy about them. It was a surprise for them when I announced  that I would take them to the city to the 1D store and they both screamed with joy. I bought them things that they liked to get except the Cd which was  I actually intended to get for Dorothy but unfortunately, all sold out.

Mother's Day gifts

These are my Mother's Day gifts from David. He bought them from the Mother's Day stall at their school a few days before Mother's Day. There were a great variety of gifts available and prices ranges from 50c up to $5.00. He bought for me, a hanger, mug with some lollies inside and a pin cushion.

Thank you David for all the lovely gifts you gave me. I love all of them.

Friday tennis lesson

I had  a meeting with Dorothy's Friday tennis coach right after Dorothy's lesson.  When Dorothy told me that her coach wanted to see me, I didn't have a second thought what was it about. I know exactly the reason, it's regarding Dorothy's improvement that she is quite more advance now than the rest of the group that sometimes she gets bored and the coach wanted her to be moved to a higher level. Actually, I was thinking about it when I made the booking for her Friday tennis lesson but it didn't concern me much for there is another girl in the group who is also in a competition. However, the coach suggested to move Dorothy to his  semi squad group in a different venue. The group is a bit advance than Dorothy's ability but he wanted to see how Dorothy goes with the group next week. Well, it is hard to say no for this opportunity, so I made a commitment with him that we will be there in the said venue.

Baking a cake

 This was last Sunday on Mother's Day. Instead of buying  a Mother's Day cake my daughter volunteered to bake a chocolate cake at home for me. So I bought the cake mix the day before and on Sunday she prepared all the other ingredients by herself. She is doing a cooking class  in school this year so  she doesn't need my supervision anymore.

And now here comes the fun part, and of course, we didn't want David to miss the fun so we  involved him in frosting the cake, and I let them have the left over frosting..yummm
