Lunch yesterday

Since hubby wasn't working overtime yesterday, he took us to Rouse Hill Town Centre to have lunch there. It was actually my first time to visit the place and since it was Sunday there were so many people. We went to Wok on Inn Noodle Bar located in the main street. We opted to occupy one of the tables outside. Once we were sitted, I didn't waste any time and checked out their menu which was on the table to make a selection of the noodle, ingredient and the flavour, I finally decided to try their egg noodle with combination (chicken, beef and seafood as the ingredients), and in Japanese teryaki flavour. Having made a selection, I queried David of what he fancied, he wanted to try the egg noodle with chicken but couldn't decide what flavour so I just chose the Japanese teryaki flavour for him too. Hubby on the other hand ordered egg noodle with combination ingredient as well, but in Korean bbq flavour. Dorothy wasn't with us because she was invited for a sleep over and was home late in the afternoon.Egg noodle with combination (chicken, beef and seafood) in Japanese teryaki flavour.

Cancelled due to wet weather

Got a text message yesterday morning from Dorothy's head coach that Dorothy's tennis lesson was washed out due to heavy rains. We had lots of rain in the past few days until Saturday morning. We just saw the blue sky yesterday afternoon after a heavy rainfall in the morning. Weather is so unpredictable that can change at any moment, rain this time and the next minute is sunny. Well, anyway, a make up day for the tennis lesson is scheduled and a registration is required in the tennis website. I haven't done it yet maybe sometime this week.

The Magpie-lark (Grallina cyanoleuca)is a conspicuous Australian bird of small to medium size, also known as the Mudlark in Victoria and Western Australia, the Murray Magpie in South Australia, and as the Peewee in New South Wales and Queensland. It had been relegated to a subfamily of fantails in the family Dicruridae (drongos), but has been placed in a new family of Monarchidae (monarch flycathers) since 2008.
It is a common and very widespread bird both in urban and rural areas, occupying all parts of Australia except for Tasmania and some of the inland desert in the north-west of Western Australia, and appears to have adapted well to the presence of humans. BT result

I had my blood test done last weekend and last Tuesday the receptionist of my GP rang me to let me know that they already received the result and my GP wanted me to be there whenever I am available, so I booked an appointment the following afternoon . I admit I felt a bit worried to know the result. I was just hoping it wasn't something serious.
My GP suggested me to have a blood test because I noticed a few bruises in my arm which I wasn't sure what caused them. I get bruise easily but the fact that I have a few at that time, I was a bit concern.
Thankfully, everything was fine. The small bruises were probably caused when I hit myself with something which I didn't notice at all.

Cancelled

Last Saturday, when me and Dorothy were about to go to her tennis lesson, I received a text from the head coach informing me that Dorothy's tennis lesson was cancelled on that day because her tennis coach wasn't feeling well. I was just glad that I had checked my mobile phone before we head off to the venue. I hope her tennis coach gets well soon. And a make up class will be scheduled sometime this term.

Sunset

Despite the rain we had today, I was still able to see a beautiful sunset. At first, I saw the sky was completely covered with dark clouds so I didn't bother to wait for the sunset any more and besides, it was still raining and soaking wet. However, when I went outside at about 6:55 pm to take our rubbish into the big rubbish bin, I saw the western sky was fiery red. So, I hurriedly went back inside to grab my pocket size camera and an umbrella on the other hand and went across the road to get a better view of the sunset.

At Manly beach

Just want to share with you photos that I captured when visited Manly beach today. It was our first trip to the beach in Spring. The kids had a great time playing in the sand and swimming in the water. Hubby wasn't with us because he was working overtime.

Blueberry Muffins

I bought blueberry muffins from Woolies this afternoon when I was doing our weekly grocery shopping. The pack (4 pieces) was half the original price so I thought to grab a pack for hubby when he comes home for he loves muffin with a cup of coffee. He is doing overtime work today and also tomorrow. The kids are not a big fan of blueberry muffin and so am I.

Dorothy's medal

Sometime last September, I had a post about Dorothy that she will be one of the few students from their school who will be awarded during the MDSSSA annual presentation. I actually felt a bit guilty on that day because I wasn't able to be there to watch her received her medal. But I knew she understand the reason why even though I didn't have work on that day. Since hubby wasn't feeling well after visiting the dentist the day before the presentation, I accompanied him back to the dentist. He got infections after 3 teeth had been pulled out and his gum got swollen and was painful, and wasn't able to go work. He was taking antibiotics then and glad after couple of days he was feeling so much better. .
Any ways, here is her MDSSSA Cross Country medal. Congratulations, Dorothy! We are so proud of you.

Mangoes

It is mango season here and mangoes are available now in most fruit shops. I bought a box of 22 ripe mangoes for 20$ two days ago from my favourite fruit shop. They are sweet, juicy and not fibrous.

Backyard visitors

We were entertained again by these two colourful rainbow lorikeets. This pair often comes to our backyard perching on our pecan tree in most afternoon. We always notice their presence every time we are in the backyard because they are noisy which we don't mind at all because we always love seeing birds on our tree.

Camera Critters

My camera critters post are these common brown butterfly or western brown butterfly and a common garden skink. Photos were taken in my backyard.
This kind of butterfly is found in south-eastern Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Western Australia, and Tasmania. They are active in spring and summer when there is sunshine and plenty of flowers to feed on.
Common garden skink is a small common skink often seen in suburban gardens in Melbourne and Sydney, but is common across most of Southern Australia and sone of NSW.

It grows to a maximum of 14 cm, but rarely exceeds a size of 9 cm. According to statistics, the average Common Garden Skink lives up to 2-3 years. The Garden Skink usually has a browny black colour and sometimes may appear a dark shade of red when bathing in the sun.

Garden skinks feed on small invertebrates including crickets, moths, slaters, earthworms, flies, grubs and caterpillars, grasshoppers, cockroaches, earwigs, slugs, small spiders, ladybeetles, ants and many other small insects, which makes them a very helpful animal around the garden. They can also feed on fruit and vegetables, but the vegetables have to be cooked for the skink to be able to eat it. Skinks especially love bananas and strawberries etc. (citrus fruit). Garden skinks rely purely on the movement of their prey when hunting. If their prey is not moving, they will not see it as edible and will not strike. When hunting, the skinks will either hide and wait for prey to come by or actively pursue it (this depends on how hungry they are). Once they have caught their prey, they shake it around vigorously to kill it before swallowing it whole. Once they have had one meal, they begin to actively pursue prey for a short while with their new found energy. Skinks only need one prey item per 4 or 5 days, but will eat every day if conditions are good, thus, making it an ideal pet for small children. (wikipedia)
