Ruby Tuesday

These were taken a few years ago in All Aboard Braemar Model Railway which is the home of Fleischmann and LGB in Australia in the Southern Highland of NSW. We dropped by there after visiting a friend to see their model railway displays. They have a very nice outdoor and indoor garden railway display which was one of our favourites. Since hubby and David are both train enthusiasts, they were so excited of the visit. After our refreshments at their Cafe, David spent time playing with the toys provided in the playroom.And the photo below was taken outside the shop near the picnic area. My daughter was watching a duck swimming in the creek.

Last Sunday

We went to David's Taekwondo grading session in the lower part of the Blue Mountains. His grading was scheduled at 9:30am for all yellow belt level. We started our trip earlier because we had to drop by at the petrol station near the mall in our place to get petrol for our car. It was a freezing cold and foggy morning. You can check out the pictures that I took on that morning in my previous post.
Anyway, the venue of the grading this time was in a different place and thankfully we didn't have trouble finding the place. Thanks to the GPS which made our trip more easier and got there on time. It was held in a Catholic School between Blaxland and Springwood.

David passed the grading and is in blue belt level now. Well done, Dave!

Today's Flowers

We went to my sister's place in the lower part of the Blue Mountains today after David's Taekwondo grading session which was held not very far from her place. While we were there I took the opportunity to wander around her front garden and this beauty captured my eyes.

She has had this orchid for a few years now and this is the first time it blooms.

This morning...

This was the scene that greeted me when I woke up this morning. It was freezing cold but it didn't stop me to go out and took a few photos.This is how our street looked like when we went out going to the petrol station to get petrol for our trip to the Blue Mountains.

Camera Critters

These are red-rumped parrots that I saw while taking a walk in the park late this morning. Red-rumped parrots feeds in pairs or small flocks on the ground, preferring seeds and leaves of grasses. They also feed on seeds, fruits and flowers in trees.

The adult male has a bright green with a blue-green head, red rump and yellow shoulders and belly.
The female has a duller, olive-green, with a green rump and faint yellow or light green scales on the belly.(info source: http://birdsinbackyards.net/species/Psephotus-haematonotus)

Last Sunday

It was a beautiful winter day with blue sky. We decided to go out to a park about 30 minutes drive from where we live. The kids were so excited and decided to bring their favourite wheeled recreation device, a scooter for David and roller skates for Dorothy. The park wasn't that crowded on that day which was good.I asked the kids to pose for the camera and here they are.
One thing why we like this park, it is because there are some exercise equipments which were installed free for everyone. David decided to try the cycle seat.
Here, David and Dorothy gave a try of the stepper.
Of course, I did have a go with David.
While hubby did have a go of the cross trainer.

And so did the kids, but look at them, it seemed they were having a hard time working with it.
Lastly, I took a couple of shots before we got in the car going back home. The first photo is a glimpse of the RAAF airport which is just right across the park.

And a shot of the sun about 4:00 pm.

Watery Wednesday

This was last Sunday when we were visiting the park just across Richmond RAAF airport. The puddle was inside the car park of Richmond park which was formed by the rains that we had for almost a week.

Big breakfast

Hubby had a big breakfast last Sunday. We were visiting a friend who lives about 20 minutes drive from where we live and since he had a take away shop, we had our late breakfast there . The big breakfast was consist of 2 sausages, egg, mushroom, bacon, chips and 2 slices of toasted bread.

Today's Flowers

My niece 4th b-day

My niece, Maddie turned 4 yrs old last Saturday and celebrated her birthday on the day itself. It was good that the weather wasn't too bad in their place because they have colder weather than in our place most of the time. Dorothy and David had a great time there and didn't even want to go home.Unfortunately, hubby wasn't able to attend the party for he was working on that day. Maddie had a great time celebrating her b-day with her close friends and relatives.

Sky Watch Friday

We have on and off rain since Sunday and the ground is soaking wet with plenty of puddles everywhere. Our first glimpse of the blue sky but with scattered clouds was just today. I was able to capture some photos late in the afternoon ( a few minutes before sunset time )of how our sky looked like.This is how our pecan tree looks like now.

Watery Wednesday

This photo was taken when we visited Featherdale Wildlife Park sometime last January. You can see a mother qoukka and her baby. They were shy and stopped drinking when I took a photo of them. It was hot and humid on that day.
