For almost a week, I have been helping a friend by taking her to her work after dropping David off at school. There was something wrong with their car and it took almost a week to repair it. Because I was free during those days, I was able and happy to help her. My friend is a Filipina and we've known each other for over 10 years now. She voluntarily looks after my kids if I have an appointment without asking any charge if she is free. My daughter also is a good friend of her daughter and every weekend they hang out together.
She wanted to pay me for the petrol consumption of the trip but since the location of her work is not that far, I declined the offer. I know she felt uncomfortable about it but I explained to her that I am free and I am happy to help her, and besides it is not always that I give her a lift, it is just only those times that something unexpected happen.
