Camera Critters

While I was walking in the park this morning after dropping Dorothy off at her tennis lesson, I saw this beautiful yellow crested cockatoo outside a hollow of the gum tree. I think she is nesting in that hollow. She was squawking so loud when I passed by. I think she was just trying to protect her nest from other birds because there were some other birds up in the tree.

A closer view of the cockatoo and she looked so curious of what I was doing.
I just love to take a walk in that park every Saturday morning, it is so quiet and there are birds around. I will post another set of photos of the other bird that caught my attention in my next CC post.

Am so fascinated! I didn't know there are still some wild cockatoos around. You are so fortunate to see one. I hope they multiply and populate your area. They are wise and can be trained to be friendly. We use to own one before, but it has a tendency to be really loud when excited, we had to give it up -the neighbors might complain -teehee. Happy weekend, Eden! :)

He does blend in well with that gum tree. I didn't realize they were so white (the gums, that is!)

That is SO neat that you can see a cockatoo in the wild. A student of mine had one for a pet here in America, and she brought it in for show and tell. What an adventure! =D Your post is great!
