The other Thursday

It was Dorothy's Regional Athletic Carnival. She was selected again to represent the District to compete in the 800m for 13 yr old girl. Since her race was at 1:15 pm, I decided to go there after lunch because I had an appointment in the morning. When I arrived, I took some photos of the venue to share with you. This is the Sydney Athletic Center in Blacktown International Sportspark, formerly known as Blacktown Olympic Park, built as a major playing and training venue for Athletics, Baseball, and softball for the Sydney Olympic 2000 Games. This is located not far from where we live, just less than 10 minutes drive.

During Dorothy's race, a girl in front of her from other school suddenly fainted a few seconds from the starting line. She was being helped by the medical team and was taken to a room. Dorothy didn't able to make to the top 5 but she was really doing her best. We were so proud of her even if she didn't able to make it. Being in the district team twice is a great achievement already. She is our champion.
