A day out last weekend
I took the kids to the city last Sunday to visit Royal Botanic Garden. The kids were so excited even if it wasn't our first visit there . We have visited it a few times already. The trip took longer than normal because trains were not running on the whole weekend and we had to take a Railway bus service going to Granville with all stops and from there, we took a train and got off in Central Station to catch another train going to St James station. I was just glad the kids were not bored on the long journey and never complained about it.
I only took a few photos because my camera was unfortunately running out of batteries and I forgot to take extra batteries with me. I decided to buy batteries from the Garden shop but it didn't last long enough. The above photo was taken at the herb garden, one of my kids favourite spots in the garden. The kids are always get fascinated of the sensory fountain that they played with it for while.
We visited the Sydney Tropical Centre for the first time with an admission of 11$ per family we can smell and touch exotic plants from misty mountains and lowland forest .A glass Pyramid, one of the first of its kind in the world, sits beside a series of arc shaped glasshouses. Each section has automatic heating and cooling systems to maintain the constant temperature and humidity in which its resident plants thrive.
These are flying foxes or fruit bats, and there are lots and lots of them in the Botanic Garden.
