I admit I am not a huge fan of orchids but from time to time I wont miss to look out some of the orchid shows around especially if the place is convenient for me to go. Hence, the pictures were taken from the last orchid show I was with last year.
I have few collection at home both from garage sale and fund raising. Buying orchids from the growers itself or nursery garden cost a fortune especially if it is a good size and how much more orchids which have flowers already. It is certainly not affordable from my pocket at the moment. However, if good opportunities come along my way, like in garage sale or fund raising, I wont miss to grab it.
I have had quite a big success growing them. It doesn't take too much care and attention. All my orchids are looking healthy and vigorous. It is just the right soil, water and fertilizer that do it all and you will get your effort paid off.

I love orchids, it reminds me of my mother, she used to grow them gibutang pa niya sa coconut hush ba.. how come I can't grow them? huhuhu

dhemz, exactly right, maayo pa sa Pinas kay pwede ra gani pangayoon ug mag barter di ba. pero sa gawas grabe man ka mahal. can't afford gyud. mao ari nalang ko sa mga garage sale ug fund raising kay barato ra ..hehehe
wala man mi plans sa VD. nia ra mi sa balay. ingon si hubby manan aw kuno ug movie but naa man mga kids karon sa balay kay ang ilang sched nga mag laag na postponed man..

lindz, my mom used to grow orchids in a coconut hush too. during our last visit to Pi, i saw that all my mother's orchids are still looking good and healthy.
