Yesterday
It was Dorothy's Zone Cross Country which was held at a Reserve not far from where we live. She was selected to represent the school to compete in the 13 year old 3,000m race. There were 7 schools who participated in the Cross Country. She came 3rd place in the race and was so happy. She worked hard and did her best. We are so proud of her.

My Mother's Day
It was a lovely and a meaningful celebration and I am sure every mum had a great time too. I celebrated it with my family at home. We didn't go out because we had a little preparation for that day. The kids always get excited too for they always prepare something special for me and can't wait to give their Mother's Day presents. David bought these beautiful kitchen utensil set, chocolate cups, basting brushes, dish brush and a pair of towel holder from his school during Mother's Day stall, a fund raising organised by the P & C . I love them because I can use them in the kitchen.

Dorothy gave me a beautiful plant with blooms already (a type of daisy) which she bought from the flower shop nearby after her tennis lesson. I like the plant because I haven't got that kind yet, and she volunteered to make a pavlova after breakfast with my supervision of course. It was her first time and glad it turned out good.
She sprinkled icing sugar on the top which melted before I could get a picture.

We also had a little Mother's Day mud cake which I bought the day before Mother's Day for us to enjoy.

Camera Critters
First of all, I would like to greet all Mums out there, A Very Happy Mother's Day!
My Camera Critters for this week are these King Parrots that we saw when we visited our friends in Southern Highlands, NSW the other weekend. The King Parrots were busily feasting the fruits of one of their trees which is growing at the backyard. I am not sure what is the name of the tree. I forgot to ask our friends :)

My chokos
I have plenty of choko fruits, (otherwise known as sayote or pear squash) this time. I have been growing chokos for many years and this time I am very pleased of its fruits. Yes, I have many this time compared to the previous years. And last Monday, I gave a bag to my friend and this coming weekend, I invited another friend for a visit so she can pick chokos to take home. I love choko (fruit) in soups, stir- fry or simply bake them. My kids don't like it that much but every time we have it on meal time, I don't forget to put a little piece on their plate and glad they just don't ignore it but eat it.

Watery Wednesday
This time I am going to share with you pictures which were taken by my eldest sister last weekend during her visit to my hometown, an island in the Northern part of Cebu Province. Cebu is about 45 minutes by plane from the City of Manila, Philippines.
One of the popular attractions and the most visited caves in the island is the Bukilat Cave, located in Barangay McArthur about 5 km from the main town of Tudela. It has a pool of cool crystal clear water inside where you can take a dip and relax while enjoying the beauty of nature. The water is a seawater as this is located less than a km from a beach. It is best to visit there during high tide because the pool gets enough water for bathing. And one more thing, the cave has natural lighting that gets in through gaps in the roof part of the cave making the inside not so gloomy and dark.

Ruby Tuesday
This is one of the playgrounds in the Reserve close to where we live. I took my little boy here the other Sunday to have a play with other kids after we took a walk in the reserve. My daughter didn't come with us because she was invited by a friend for a visit.

I am sharing this post with Ruby Tuesday.

Just after the rain
I captured this image a few weeks ago after a heavy rain. I went out to the backyard with my pocket size camera in hand even if the ground was still wet. I just wanted to capture whatever caught my fancy and here is one of the few images I captured on that afternoon.
Today's Flowers
I can't believe it's May already. How time flies so quickly! Anyhow, here is my Today's flowers post for this week. This is my orchid called, Zygopetalum. It is in season at this time of the year. It has been quite awhile since I have this orchid which I bought from a fund raising one weekend in our place, and every year it never failed to bloom. What I really like with this orchid are, the flowers have beautiful fragrance and they are long lasting too.
