Camera Critters

These are red-rumped parrots that I saw at the local park while taking a walk one morning. Red-rumped parrots feeds in pairs or small flocks on the ground, preferring seeds and leaves of grasses. They also feed on seeds, fruits and flowers in trees.

The adult male has a bright green with a blue-green head, red rump and yellow shoulders and belly.

he female has a duller, olive-green, with a green rump and faint yellow or light green scales on the belly.
