This huge spider has been in our Macadamia tree for quite a while now. I cannot exactly remember when was the first time I saw it. There was a couple of times that I partially destroyed his web just to tell him to move away from our backyard but the next time I look at the spot to where he is , there's a new web. He is not that harmful kind though but it is good to take extra precaution all the time and I keep on reminding the kids every time they play in the backyard not to get closer to the Macadamia tree. I will have to get rid of this spider soon. If you take a closer look of the picture you will find that this spider has lost a couple of its front legs somehow.

Must be one of those frightful garden spiders. They are fun to watch.
Poor spider... it's a lovely specimen. But big!
ang laki naman niyan na gagamba..
Your lucky having a macadamia tree. Do you get plenty of nuts? I think that spider will do more good than harm. He appears to have lost two of his legs on one side poor thing. The Rosella Jam is beautiful. The plants are a type of Hibiscus and very easy to grow here in central Queensland. The seeds would have been passed down from year to year through our family for probably sixty or more years. We've always made roslla jam. It just goes with the end of summer!
Yep, it only has six legs :(
Great shot!
