Home grown vegetables are always the best, more fresher and taste much better. Every summer right through autumn, I don't miss to grow tomatoes in my garden. I grew the tomato seedlings myself. Tomatoes are always in demand in our kitchen for we use it in vegetable salad and sandwiches. This year I grow only about 4 tomatoes. Unlike last year I had more than 5 but because of the limited space and hot weather some of them didn't grow well. So I decided to limit my planting to only 4 this time. Thankfully with the constant watering and care , they all grow well an healthy and have plenty of blossoms. Last week, I was able to pick more than a kilo and use them for our daily consumption.

Aside from tomatoes, I have about 10 spinach growing this time. I bought seedlings from the plant nursery close to where we live. I decided to plant a few for hubby and I love spinach. I simply cook it by roughly cutting the leaves and put them in a boiling water with a bit of salt and freshly ground pepper, then remove them from the boiling water after about 1 minute. The kids don't like it that much but every time I cook spinach I always put a little on their plate. Our guinea pigs like the fresh leaves too.

I never have luck in growing eggplant, however despite the unsuccessful attempts I have had, this year I still decided to try again to grow a few. I bought about 4 seedlings from the plant nursery. After a few days of planting them, the 2 died for some reason. This time one is growing well and bears 7 little eggplants already. The other one is still little, I am not sure why it doesn't grow as quickly as the other one for I give them the same care and attention.

Here is the eggplant that I have told you that is growing slowly but it's looking healthy though.

I luved seeing your vegetable garden. I grew a few veggies in containers last summer and plan to plant more this summer.
Spinach and eggplant would be two of the last things I'd grow, but it was super fun to see yours. Actually, spinach salads are my favorite.
This will be the first growing season that my dad won't be planting tomatoes. He lives in a nursing home now. They do have a small garden there, so maybe they will let us grow a tomato plant.
Thanks for the garden tour, friend.
