David's Swimming Carnival
David's Swimming Carnival is scheduled this coming Tuesday which will be held in Blacktown. He really wanted to participate in the competition but I told him that he is not ready yet, and he still needs a lot of practice. However, I will still let him go in the venue as a spectator only and told him to watch and observe during the race. Although he can swim good and very confident in the water but he doesn't have any practice of the different swimming strokes nor he had tried swimming 50m without stopping . Dorothy was into swimming competition when she was in year 4 already. I am planning to enrol David again for a swimming course to improve his swimming skills.

Basket of goodies
I know this is a bit late to thank here in my blog my step son and his wife who gave me this basket full of fruit mince pie, teas, jam, biscuits, candies and chocolates as their Christmas present. Me and the kids had fun digging into the basket and we all love everything in it .
Thank you so much, John, Maria and kids ! I really appreciate the thought of giving me this Christmas gift basket.

Tomorrow
A few days after the long summer holiday had been started, we received a mail from Dorothy's school unexpectedly, informing us about their Annual Excellence Assembly for school year 2011 which will be held tomorrow at the hall of their school, the 3rd of February, and was inviting us to attend the assembly for Dorothy will receive an award which recognises her exceptional efforts in 2011. We didn't really expect it that she will be included in the Excellence Assembly since the last day of school in 2011, she came home with 7 awards in both academic and sport and I thought that was it. So I made a booking for me and hubby to be there tomorrow. We are excited and proud of Dorothy's achievement.
On the first day of school
I was having a hard time waking up David in the morning of last Monday. He didn't want to get up because he said he was still tired and sleepy. This is what always happen when he is well past due his normal sleeping time. That night I let him go to bed early but he didn't sleep right away and wanted Dorothy to sleep with him on top of his bunk bed. He sometimes asks if Dorothy can sleep with him, and there are times that I give up and let Dorothy sleeps with him especially on weekend. But the thing that most of the time when Dorothy sleeps with him, they keep on talking without caring the time so that night I didn't let his big sister sleep with him so that he can sleep early for the following day was the first day of going back to school. But it didn't work on that morning. However, I was still glad we still able to make to school on time.

Camera Critters
While we were at the car park of the shopping mall, we saw two rainbow lorikeets in the gum tree and suddenly moved to a trunk of the tree trying to get into the hole. I think they have babies or eggs in a hole.
Then one suddenly poked out its head looking at us.
