Dorothy

I thought to share with you a photo that I took when we attended the Kids for Kite Day sometime last October in the mall close to where we live. It was our first time to attend that annual event. Because there were lots of things to see and do for free, the kids were so excited to be there. The free kites for everyone was the one that they didn't want to miss. While we were strolling around the venue, we met this cute costume dress-up character, a kangaroo. Dorothy decided to have her photo taken with the kangaroo but David didn't like it.

Last Sunday's breakfast

We decided last Sunday to have our breakfast in McDonald . When hubby suggested it to us, I agreed with him right away for MacDonald is not that far from where we live and besides it has been quite a long time since we had our last breaky there. I even forget when was that and of course, I was already craving for their hot cakes . The kids had hot cakes too while hubby had his favourite, a breakfast wrap which includes, bacon, eggs, cheese and a golden potato rosti with tomato sauce.

Camera Critters

Here's my Camera Critters for this week. I took these pictures while we were visiting a park in North West of Sydney. Upon looking at the picture I don't know if you would notice what is wrong with the duck. It was my daughter who pointed it out to us when she saw it. She and her brother were feeding the ducks at that time. Well, the duck has a split beak but it seemed it didn't bother him at all for he was really doing well grabbing the pieces of bread along with the other ducks that my kids threw into the water.Interested to join or want to see more Critters from all around the world please click, here.

At the backyard

I just wanted to share with you what I had found in our backyard last week. While I was trimming one of our fruit trees, a bird suddenly flew off from the tree looking scared and when I looked up just above my head I saw a nest and thought that it belongs to the bird that had just flew away. With curiosity inside me,I checked the nest and found two eggs. The bird, a native pigeon didn't fly away that far but just perched on a branch of another tree enough that she can still take a look at her nest. Native pigeons are one of the birds hanging around in our backyard everyday. I will just wait until the eggs hatch and finish trimming the tree.

Orientation day

Yesterday was Dorothy's orientation day in preparation for her High School next year. I can't believe I have a year 7 daughter next year. How time flies so quickly. Well, like any other, she was excited and ate unenthusiastically her breakfast . She said to me that she lost her appetite because of her excitement. I just grabbed something from the shop for her to nibble if in case she felt hungry. We arrived early in the school and saw one of Dorothy's classmates who was waiting for them. There were about 14 students from Dorothy's year 6 class that will also go in that HS. Parents and carers were also invited for the orientation that's why I went with Dorothy. I arranged someone to take David to school on that day because the orientation started at 9:00 am. I stayed only for over an hour until the parents' part of the orientation finished and went home, while Dorothy stayed until the normal school hour finished. She went home by herself catching a bus. Dorothy was happy that for the first time I let her catch a bus by herself because it made her feel like a grown up already. I gave her instructions where to catch the bus and as well as the time and glad she got home on time.
