Last Thursday

Me and my sister decided to meet up at the mall with our kids. It is school holiday this time so it is a great chance for the kids to see again their cousin, Madie. The mall is located about 20 minutes drive from where we live and about 30 minutes from where my sister lives. We just took the train since parking time in the mall is limited and besides it is always a joy for David riding a train even if it is just for a short time. We arrived earlier than expected while my sister arrived shortly after our arrival. We had a great time. I didn't do shopping, not on that day, just some window shopping only of bags, winter boots and coats while my sister bought some winter stuffs for her daughter. At lunch time we decided to have it at the food court and my sister and I decided to try a mix seafood lunch while the kids were having MacDonald mealsmy lunch, seafood, chips and vegetable salad

Our new cat

I am introducing the newest member of my family, Twilight. She is a black and very friendly cat. We are not sure how old is she but we know this cat for quite sometime. We officially adopted her about 3 weeks ago and named her, Twilight. Dorothy thought that the name suits her very well because of her big eyes. Actually, Twilight belonged to the previous tenants of the house next to us who we barely knew and rented the house just for a short time. When they moved, they didn't take the cat with them and the next people who rented the house adopted her like their own cat. But when they decided to move they didn't take Twilight with them. She was abandoned twice already, poor cat!
I just feel pity with the cat why those people can afford to abandon her like she is just nothing. The last couple who rented the house didn't even bother to inform us about her or even asking us if we are interested to adopt Twilight when the wife visited us on the last day of their stay to say good bye and thanking us.A week after the house was empty and quiet, Twilight suddenly appeared to our back door, begging for a home. We were so surprised to see her and wondering what had happen to her. The kids came out from the house to play with her. She was so playful then and seemed happy (The photos were taken on that day) . Later on that day we finally decided to adopt her instead of giving her to the RSPCA. Hubby has given the responsibility to Dorothy to take care of her everyday and Dorothy is so happy that she has her own cat now. We are planning to take her to the Vet to have her check up and buy her worming tablets.

Camera Critters

While I was walking in one of our local parks here late in the morning today after dropping Dorothy off at her tennis lesson, I heard an unfamiliar noise up in the tree. When I looked at up in the tree I was surprised to see three corella parrots, one was busy eating a piece of bread which I think he found in the park while the other two were just only onlookers. The tree which they were perching isn't that high and just beside the foot path. Since I have my camera with me, I took a couple of shot.

School holiday

Yesterday was the last day of the first term for this school year and the kids are having their 2 weeks holiday. They will come back to school on the 27th of this month. They are so excited. No wake up early and sleep early for the time being. I have planned a few activities for them to do to keep them busy, places to visit and maybe organise a sleep over and invite some of their friends to come over to our house. Today, a friend of mine is inviting us for a get together party and Dorothy is invited for a sleep over to their place too. David is not allowed yet for a sleep over for he is still little for that kind of thing and it is fine with him. There's actually nothing grand to celebrate this Saturday but just a simple get together. On Easter Sunday we are going to have a barbecue in our house and families in both sides are coming to celebrate Easter Sunday with us. I am going to be busy again but it is always a joy seeing our families and catching each other again.

Sky Watch Friday

Since I was not able to capture sky photos for my SWF post this week, I am posting pictures which were taken by yours truly a few years ago while we were in Goulburn, 195 km south-west of Sydney on the Hume Highway and 690 metres (2,264 ft) above sea-level. We were in Goulburn War Memorial in Rocky Hill when I captured these photos waiting for the sunset. But unfortunately it wasn't the best time to watch a magnificent sunset for it was an overcast sky and rain was threatening later in the afternoon. But even if that was a dull dreary day, there was still beauty out there to be appreciated. Do you agree?

Dorothy

I have mentioned in one of my previous posts that the other Sunday I took the kids for a walk to the convenience store near our place which has a horse Agistment across the road and we dropped by there on our way back home because Dorothy really wanted to pat one of the horses. The horse in the picture was the only one that came to meet us. Some were busy grazing the grass and some just stared us.

He was distracted by the sound of the plastic bag that I was carrying. I think he thought I had something for him to nibble.

The horse seemed so friendly though that he stayed with us until we started to walk going back home.
