Last Friday

That was the schedule of the school Cross Country at the school where my kids are in and me and hubby were there to witness the event (running race). Both the kids were so excited and looking forward to their races. But few days before the day came, David unfortunately got sick and was absent for about 3 days but he was still able to come back to school on the day of the race. I thought he would not like to race and just be one of the cheerers but he still did. He didn't came out a winner though nor in the top six but he was doing really good and trying his best.
(David first from the right preparing for the race)
Dorothy on the other hand, had been preparing for the race weeks before the schedule with her friends in the local park close to where we live. She was so excited for the day to come and can't even wait. Her race was the last one for the day. It was for 3 km and she came out second place. She was so happy of her achievement and happy as well for her best friend who won the first place. And again she has gain selection to represent their school for the coming District Cross Country sometime next week.
And while we were walking at the foot path going to the car park that afternoon, David suddenly called our attention that the clouds look like smoke. So I hurriedly took my camera out from my bag and captured the sky scene. I don't know if you agree with David but I think the cloud formation is beautiful.

Ellie...

She is our pet grey cockatiel. We bought her just few days after David 1st birthday. It has been nearly 6 yrs now since we have her. Dorothy christened her, Ellie. She is a sweet loving bird who always wants our attention and chirps a lot everyday.
But last Sunday was a different day, I found her at the bottom of her cage sleeping, looking sick, tired and lost interest of her food . We never heard her chirp on that day. So hubby took her to the Vet for a check up of what was wrong with her the following day, and found out that she had some kind of infections. She was given a needle of anti-biotic right away. After a day, she was back to her normal self, always chirping, climbing the cage and very alert. And sometime next week, she is due for another check up.

Ruby Tuesday

Here is my RT entry for this week. It has a little bit of RED only. This was taken last Thursday while me and dear hubby took a walk in a park beside the Nepean River. On our way to the car park, I took one last glimpse of the river before scrambling inside the car and saw this man rowing. He was the only man rowing at the time and the thing that his boat was a red colour, I thought to take a snap for my Ruby Tuesday entry.

Camera Critters

These were taken during our visit to Royal Botanic Garden in Sydney. They are called flying foxes, otherwise known as fruit bats, are mammals, and are members of the Pteropodidae family. They have the largest body size of all bats. Most of the flying foxes in Royal Botanic Garden are Grey- headed Flying foxes, which are listed as vulnerable under NSW and Commonwealth legislation. There is also a small number of Black Flying foxes, typically a more tropical species, which began roosting in the Royal Botanic Garden around 2006. The Grey -headed Flying fox is a native species that is endemic to Australia.

Last Thursday

Last Thursday while the kids were at school, hubby and I decided to go out and strolled in the park beside the Nepean River at Penrith. The park is one of our favourite places to relax and unwind on some weekends. There was not so many people at that time and we could have the whole park all by ourselves if we want to. It was a glorious day and a great time to enjoy the sunshine outside after the cloudy days we had. We took a walk around the park, taking some pictures, bird watching and watching the boats in the River. At lunch time we decided to drop by at Silver Spur Steak Ranch located not very far from the park. We haven't been there before and I was excited to indulge their hearty meals. We ordered the Surf and Turf dish. It consist of a good size steak with sauce, chips, crunchy onion rings , garlic prawn and crisp fresh salad. It was yum and I was full that I didn't anymore order something for dessert.
